Justin Trawick’s 9 Songwriter Series returns for its monthly residency at Pearl St. Warehouse. Tuesday night’s lineup features Calista Garcia, Rachel Levitin, Brassie, Elena Lacayo and more!
Wednesday March 1st
You ready to stay up late on a school night? Pizza joint Comet Ping Pong gives Wednesday night to DC’s astounding dance-rock band Light Beams and a brand new harDCore band called ligatures, opening for Venezuela art collective Zeta.
Thursday March 2nd
Instrumental post-rock/chillwave champs Ice Out are back at the Evening Star’s cozy upstairs lounge in Del Ray this Thursday night, and they’ve invited Jake Reid aka Secret Wilderness, also of Screen Vinyl Image, to fill the evening with electronic wizardry. This show is free, so tip your bartenders xtra well.
Friday March 3rd
We cannot miss any opportunity to recommend you spend a night dancing to a live set from Chopteeth. The funky big band devoted to Afrobeat and other African musical styles takes over Friday night at Pearl Street Warehouse.
BONUS: Long running post-punk DJ night We Fought The Big One isn’t missing a beat. Friday night they join Chevy Chase Main Street’s First Fridays series at the buzzy new record shop art sound language with a live set from chamber folk band Teething Veils and vinyl selections from ASL’s PJ Brownlee. And this one starts at 6 PM!
Saturday March 4th
Penn Social is not just the spot to catch sports and trivia downtown. Their live music calendar features dynamic r&b/rock band Black Alley on Saturday night.
Sunday March 5th
Let’s finish off this week of DC music with a burst of queer punk energy at Comet Ping Pong Sunday night with Ekko Astral and Spring Silver opening for snazzy Connecticut band Cheem.
