Griefcat is the duo of songwriters Louisa Hall and Annie Nardolilli, making music like no other in DC since 2019. In the vein of their prevous smash hits “Revolution! (Poop at Work)”, “Cryptobro”, and “Marseille (Bidet Song)”, the newest music video is “I Just Want to Get Inside (Your Bank Account)” is a subtle critique of modern cybersecurity trends dressed up in their trademark matching pink textured dresses. Brava!

Tuesday September 5th
Wammie award winning indie rock band Flowerbomb are taking their vibes on the road for the Gloom Scroll Tour in early September. Show them the hometown love Tuesday night at DC9 with along with lush synthrock band Color Palette and the always captivating pop band Pretty Bitter.
Wednesday September 6th
Georgetown’s Blues Alley celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a series of showcases of prominent Latin jazz nationalities. The Brazilian Jazz Series, a collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil, kicks off Wednesday night with DC based guitarist Dani Cortaza, leading a group including Marinho Boffa Jr. and Cris Caner, both direct from Brazil making their DC debut.
Thursday September 7th
Swampgrass grew out of a weekly jam session to a full fledged DC band, playing a lively mix of traditional and original bluegrass music. Thursday night they return to the Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring for a free show.
Friday September 8th
Folk/rock/Americana band The Beanstalk Library returns from a quiet period (we really missed ya) Friday night at Pearl Street Warehouse, and they’re bringing along blues/surf rock champs Wanted Man to sweeten the deal.
Saturday September 9th
The DC band name Cal Rifkin is 100% chef’s kiss, and their indie rock sound is equally satisfying live. See them and Dischord/Beauty Pill adjacent rock band Yes Vacancy, who just released this new song “Decomposed”, Saturday night at Silver Spring’s Quarry House Tavern supporting Austin band Being Dead.
Sunday September 10th
Friends, how cool is this. All summer the DC Public Library’s Go-Go Archive, while hosting free blowout Sunday matinee shows on their gorgeous rooftop space, have been developing the next generation of go-go musicians. This Sunday afternoon the Making of the Go-Go Band Showcase presents LIT band, RCA band, and a new band formed for this effort, all in advance of a headlining set by absolute legends Backyard Band.
