Saving the best for last, the CityPaper’s monthly Beats Me feature rounds up reviews of new singles, EPs and albums by DC acts Daniel Noah Miller, Pretty Bitter, J. Robbins, Jane O’Neill, NAYAN, Mary Timony, and Glitterer. And we’ve given you links to listen to them all.
DC Music Video
Pop-punk band American Television premiered a new music video they shot themselves for the lead-off track from their latest album Scars. “New Generation” takes aim at the long-term effects of book bans in school libraries. Punk rock is always at its most vibrant when confronting the injustices of the world.
AMTV also found a great use for the Scars record jackets printed up by their former label A-F Records which they abandoned after the sexual assault charges against Anti-Flag’s Justin Sane. Spiral-bound sketchbooks with the album cover are now available on AMTV’s Bandcamp for a very fair price.
Mark your calendars (or don’t, we’ll remind you again for sure) for American Television’s next hometown show at Slash Run on Friday March 15th with Venray and two New Jersey bands, Graduation Speech and Night Windows.
