DC Music Video
Acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist Yasmin Williams just debuted a new song called “Dawning”, a collaboration with Aofie O’Donovan of the folk trio I’m With Her, that previews her new album coming out in 2024 on Nonesuch Records. The music video below from director Jonathan Howard sets Williams’s music in lush outdoor settings. Tickets are available now for her next DC-area show at Sixth & I Synagogue on November 15th, a “musical conversation” between Williams, Valerie June, Rachael Davis, and Thảo Nguyễn of the Get Down Stay Down.

Saturday September 30th
Since we’re short on a pick for Sunday, we’ll make you choose between two very different shows on Saturday. First up, as part of the city-wide Art All Night event, MLK Library brings together the finest DC Go-Go bands including Junkyard Band, Backyard Band, Rare Essence, Sirius Company, headliner Black Alley, and the winner of the Making of the Go-Go Band contest Red Carpet Affair. The event starts at 6 PM and includes food trucks, a comedian, and of course art!

See Ya Next Week
As always, thanks for reading this little weekly newsletter from a completely unartificial intelligence. Buy some music, or add it to a playlist, and send something you liked along to a friend. The 2023 summer fun times are memories now, and we have to look in on each other as the jackets come out and the days get shorter. Stay safe friends.
