Last weekend Chevy Chase record shop art sound language hosted an art show by comic and flyer artist Alex Halaszyn of his recreations of classic DC album covers, and Washingtonian previewed it. We really hope you got to see it.

Thursday October 26th
Andrew Grossman’s expansive band of DC music expats The North Country celebrates the unveiling of their new single Invisible Hand at DC9 Thursday evening, with help from Brooklyn cellist Laura Wolf and DC indie rock band Moozy. Catch up with Grossman in this interview with Alchemical Records!
Friday October 27th
We think anticipation runs pretty damn high for guitarist Anthony Pirog’s new album The Nepenthe Series Vol. 1, as it features collabs with Nels Cline, John Frusciante, Andy Summers, Luke Stewart and more. Friday night Rhizome hosts a listening party for the album, played through a high fidelity system provided by Linear Tube Audio, and Anthony and his partner, cellist Janel Leppin, will both play solo sets.
Saturday October 28th
It’s a rare chance to see bassist Kevin de Souza’s delightful indie pop band Uptown Boys Choir live on stage, so head to 7DrumCity’s The Pocket on Saturday night to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their EP Get Help along with singer Jasmine Gillison with her full band and two guys Austin and Phil whose band is called The Sisters.
Sunday October 29th
Sunday afternoon Eaton Cinema will host another UnSound Sunday, where jazz impresaria Amy K. Bormet and her all-star band performs a new live electric/acoustic score to a classic silent film. This month’s seasonally appropriate selection is 1922 German Expressionist film Nosferatu.
